Rylstone and Kandos are located three hours drive from Sydney, and a short distance from Mudgee (45 km northwest) and the Hunter Region (75 km northeast).

Our district is very picturesque with old buildings, wide tree lined streets, cafes and quaint shops. We are nestled in the surrounding mountain range and the Wollemi National Park is only a short drive, the home of one of the rarest plants in the world, the Wollemi Pine, and other endangered and threatened species of plants, marsupials and birds. Our area is a great base for bushwalking, water sports and enjoying the great outdoors.

Kandos Rylstone is becoming known as a wine region with great prospects and many boutique vineyards have won awards for their wines.

Kandos has an industrial history with the manufacturing of cement and nearby the mining of coal, while Rylstone is known for its agriculture. Other industry includes growers of olives, blueberries, squabs and truffles are among the diverse group in the Rylstone area.
