It is important for you to carefully read and consider the following questions before deciding to accept a place at ADA Cottage.
If, after reading through the list and considering all the items on the list, you are uncertain as to any aspects of life at ADA Cottage, or it's suitability to you, seek further advice.
- I have fully discussed my decision to enter ADA Cottage with my family, friends and advisor.
- Am I considering moving into ADA Cottage because the housework, gardening and general maintenance has become too much? I have fully considered other options? For example, ADA Community Aged Care Packages (CACP's) is available to assist you living in your own home for longer. ADA Cottage has Self Care Units, where you can enjoy independent living, in a smaller home.
- I have received adequate information about ADA Cottage. Which I have shown to my solicitor or a Chamber magistrate. I am satisfied that I fully understand the contract that I am signing.
- I know that the lifestyle of the ADA Cottage suits me and I have I spoken to several residents of ADA Cottage about the support, care and lifestyle provided.
- I am aware that ADA Cottage and my unit is readily accessible if I become disabled and need a wheelchair or walking aid, and that ADA will assist me in choosing the right equipment through professional assessments.
- I am aware of the alternatives and how to access services should I become too frail to live alone.
- ADA Cottage provides personal care, and emergency call systems and other facilities designed for the elderly. I have made a list of my present and likely future needs and ADA Cottage meets these needs.
- I have looked at a number of other aged care facilities to compare the services and financial arrangements and ADA Cottage suits my lifestyle and meets my expectations.
