ADA Cottage - Activities and Lifestyle
Pet Therapy
enriching lives of people and pets - bringing them together
Pet therapy is a valued activity used by ADA Cottage. Nolan, Morgan and Marley visit our Cottage on a regular basis.
Pat Bailey, a local dog trainer spends time twice a week putting Marley and Morgan through their paces with obedience training, jumping hurdles and interacting with residents and staff. The residents play a large part in their development and training. Our residents love to pat and cuddle Morgan and Marley who in turn create feelings of happiness and enjoyment.
Activities & lifestyle
ADA Cottage aims to keep residents active, interested in the community, and with a positive approach to health, life and sociability. We encourage residents to maintain their interests and hobbies and to participate in community activities.
All residents, including those with individual and special needs are offered a variety of activities which support and enhance emotional, social and spiritual well being.
We offer communal areas which provide the opportunity to socialize or entertain family and friends, as well as quiet areas to read or just enjoy the garden.
Residents have access to garden beds to grow vegetables and herbs. ADA Cottage is currently building a chicken coop, which will house 3 friendly chickens who can be hand fed.
We assist our residents on weekly shopping expeditions in which they purchase goodies, pay their bills and go to the bank.
Our residents have group and individual exercise programs, massage therapy, hairdressing, nail and foot care as well as bingo, church services, resident advocate meetings, happy hours, movies, craft, and sing a longs at the pianola.
